Associate Professor İsmail Altıntop commenced his residency at the Erciyes University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Emergency Medicine, in 2002, earning his board certification as an Emergency Medicine Specialist in 2006. Throughout his residency, he specialized in disaster and emergency medicine, with a particular focus on the clinical management of earthquake-related trauma.

From 2007 to 2009, he served as an Emergency Medicine Specialist and Head of the Emergency Department at Kayseri Training and Research Hospital. During this period, he also undertook various management roles within private healthcare institutions. Between 2009 and 2010, he completed his compulsory civil service at Diyarbakır State Hospital and fulfilled his military obligations at the Turkish General Staff Headquarters.

Following his tenure as Head of the Emergency Department at Niğde State Hospital, he returned to Kayseri Training and Research Hospital in 2012. In 2014, he further enhanced his academic credentials by completing a joint program in "Research Methodology in Healthcare" hosted by Koç University and Harvard University.

Patents and Scholarly Contributions: Dr. Altıntop is a prolific innovator and researcher, holding several significant patents and academic titles:

• KANDUR: Developer and patent holder of this domestic hemostatic agent.

• SOFTCAST: Inventor of a patented lightweight orthopedic casting system.

• Publications: He is the author of the book "Addiction: Drugs and Street Drugs" and serves as the editor of the "Emergency Medicine Orientation Book."

• Editorial Roles: He holds various prestigious positions, including editor, associate editor, and statistics editor for several international peer-reviewed journals.

• Academia: He serves as a faculty member at the Cappadocia University Faculty of Health Sciences and Nuh Naci Yazgan University.

In June 2018, Dr. Altıntop was appointed as the Founding Chief Physician of Kayseri State Hospital, a position he continues to hold. He attained the rank of Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine in 2020 and remains an active lecturer at the University of Health Sciences. He is fluent in English, married, and a father of three.
